There's something rather terrifying about a blank page. Keen to start writing a wellness journal but not sure where to start? We've put together some ideas to get the inspiration flowing. Before you begin you might like to quietly meditate for just a moment. You may glance through the list below and see what comes up before picking up a pen, or you might like to check in with a body scan and notice what you are feeling, is your jaw clenched, has something made you upset, or are you feeling light and happy? Journaling is a fantastic emotional release, regardless of what the emotions are (you can read more about the benefits here).
Pick a prompt, write it at the top of your page and you've already started. PROMPTS FOR YOUR WELLNESS JOURNAL
Gratitude: Write about three things you are grateful for today and why they bring you joy.
Self-care: Describe a self-care activity that rejuvenates you and explain how it makes you feel.
Mindfulness: Reflect on a moment today when you were fully present and describe the sensations and emotions you experienced.
Strengths and accomplishments: List three of your strengths or recent accomplishments and how they contribute to your overall well-being.
Emotional exploration: Write about a recent emotional experience that impacted you deeply, describing the emotions you felt and any insights gained from the experience.
Goals and aspirations: Reflect on your short-term and long-term goals. Write about why these goals are important to you and the steps you plan to take to achieve them.
